The Region of Murcia, together with European Commission DG DEFIS is organizing the European conference on Expanding and Strengthening the European Naval Defence Industry with Non-Traditional Players that will be held in the city of Cartagena, Region of Murcia (Spain), next 6 – 7 March. The event, organized within the activities of the European Network of Defence-related Regions (ENDR), will address four main topics:
- Enhancing Naval Projection at Sea
- Underwater Observation Detection, Adquisition & Communication (ODAC)
- Energy Generation, Storage & Distribution for future naval platforms
- Automation & Uncrewed Naval Systems.
They have foreseen a Policy roundtable with representatives from the different EU institutions to take stock of the first steps of the European Defence Industrial Strategy and update the industry trends, technologies and capabilities for the Naval sector and identify the main challenges in the framework of the EU technological sovereignty.
Also, we will have first-hand information of the 2025 funding opportunities within the European Defence Fund. A Technology Brokerage Event will allow participants to match bilateral interests at European level and a Startup Area will show the latest trends o, f Dual-use technologies provided by Non-Traditional Players to strength the European Naval Defence Sector and the CAETRA regional Dual – use ecosystem.
